Hey all
So I watched my hen lay an egg, and before I even got over to it three hens had eaten it.
From what I researched this can be linked to a nutrient deficiency but they are well provided for, food, cracked corn, oyster shells, they are free range, and help themselves to my garden - they are never locked in except at night but even then they can come out at they please - always have fresh water etc- I am at loss - anyone else experience this -

Sorry to hear of your hens' egg eating issues. That is always a pain. Definitely make sure they have calcium. Often times hens eat their own eggs because they know the shells have calcium. Also, put lots and lots of fake eggs (or golf balls) in the area where the hens are laying. That way it will be harder for them to find the real egg. Here's a link too. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/six-tips-on-breaking-your-egg-eater

Best of luck!

What's the protein level of your feed?
