Frustration With My Local Feed Stores

Update on the feed stores: Per the advice of many here, my DH and I headed today to the feed store out on Bradshaw & Florin (BTW, they're doing construction out there on Florin, and Florin is blocked off so we had to take Gerber and turn left on Bradshaw).

Anyway, first of all, THANK YOU!!!! for telling us about them. They were really awesome. They also have tons of chicks & had actual answers to my questions and treats for my girls and the right food and everything! The people were really, really nice and even helped me find a good food for my dog, who needs a better food for her skin and coat. We got a 50-pound bag of the RIGHT chicken feed for less than $14. I paid more for the sack of freeze dried mealworms than I did for the bag of feed! LOL! And it was really pretty neat that the young man that works in there bears an unbelievable resemblance to Robert Pattinson.

One of the feed stores around here tried to sell me scratch instead of the layer pellets I asked for. He said that's what all chicken farmers primarily feed their birds.

Luckily there are other feed stores in my area that know what they are selling.
