Hi there, thanks for the reply.

So...more details surfaced. And did want to let you know I did not exaggerate.

There's a house 2 streets over from us, their ducks are super quiet, like way more than mine. And I thought mine were quiet.

Mine are quiet ONLY if I feed them on time. But in the afternoon sometimes they'll quack a bit but then settle down. I am super careful to always pay attention to this so that I don't hear stuff.

There are unknown variables though... like we have 4 neighbor yards bordering ours and every single one of them have dogs. And I'm sure the ducks know the dogs are there. I'm not sure if this makes them quieter from fear? Curious if others can remark on that.

As far as neighbor complaints we found out one day talking to the neighbor. He came over one day way upset and was trying to find out who was complaining about his dog barking and super mad. And the person on the other side of him is renters. He told us that usually his life time he'd seen that its usually renters that complain not home owners. And when he said that we both realized who was doing the complaints. (I thought that was interesting.)

Anyway, there's a lot of dogs in this neighborhood. And this one guy was complaining over everyone because in 2 of the 4 yards around us, their dogs bark like crazy. But it wasn't other animals barking, just the dogs.

And one day specifically I fed the ducks they made noise at 6 AM for literally like 10 seconds, and that guy came out in the middle of the dark. It surprised me that he'd come out on a short fuse for that little of a time. It doesn't seem fair to me to complain over 10 seconds of noise. But I would understand someone complaining about noise that was extensive.

But it seemed also like when the animal control guy went around he didn't seem to really care if he was only hitting the one guilty party. (Which is kind of a shame.)

I've been very interested in how the ducks can be managed to keep quiet. I may have mentioned earlier that I won't ever do peking ducks again. But I do love those ducks and they are probably super awesome all around, but just it seemed like they have twice as much voice projection because they are larger than the other ducks.

Runner ducks are very small and light weight also. And this is what I have. It might be that we don't hear noise because their smaller necks and bodies don't have as good voice projection(?>)
