Fryers

I am looking at getting some fryers. I live in area that has no restrictions. At what age to do processes them? They won't be able to free range so i will need to build a tractor for them. How big should it be for 25 Fryers?

A fryer should be able to be processed at 8 weeks. I would provide at least 1.5-2 sq ft per bird if you are going to build a tractor you can move to new grass everyday. More space if they don't move. Check out this tractor I just built for meat birds. Mine is 8x4, enough room for 10-15 birds. Lightweight and moveable, cost about 150 to build.

Are your fryers CX, rangers, another meat breed or the frying pan special some hatcheries sell (extra cockerels of Heritage breeds).

I have a 9x9 tractor that I do 25 broilers in.
Would not have it any other way. Tractor is the cats meow in raising broilers.
