*Cracks knuckles* WWIT I'll tell you just like I tell Guitarist, "Feel lucky?
Pull the trigger"! Say the word and eggs will be on their way to you
. Ill be more than happy to help with any questions you may have on building a FridgeOBator.
There are a few things I would suggest if you decide to give the go ahead:
1 - Get a unit that has the separate freeze on top (easier to regulate temp)
2 - Make sure you put a false back inside the unit to assure good air flow.
3 - Do not over engineer your FridgeOBator. If it will hold 600 eggs; reduce it down to 400. When I first made mine I tried to fill every nook crook and cranny in it. Dont! Leave enough room to allow air flow to reach the lower racks. Even if you dont put a false back in it, leave a 2-2.5" gap in the back. The airflow will be greatly increased.
4 - The ideal operation is to have the adjustment for the thermostat to be on the outside of the unit. I couldnt find a long enough carriage bolt or one with the right threads to work on mine. So I had to place mine inside.
5 - Be sure to check out the fan that comes with the discarded Fridge. I almost threw away mine thinking it was junk. I wired it and it works like a champ; saved me money on buying a fan.
I have more info if you need it on making trays and how to house them if you are interested, just let me know.
