I'm going to go into lockdow late I think. My shipped eggs are 4 days behind the one 'full moon' egg and they aren't losing enough humidity. Worried I'll drown them.
What's the lowest humidity considered 'safe' for lockdown??
I never go down below 65. I don't think you will drowned them. If not high enough you can shrinkwrap them. What makes you think they didn't lose enough moisture. I have just never worried about that. When its time to lock down that is what I do. What day did you set them.
The eggs I'm worried about were set 4 days after the first egg, so only one egg is ready to go into lockdown. Sadly only one incubator, so I can't move the one egg for hatching.
We had rain for a few days, humidity was at 60%! Needless to say, they're behind on moisture loss. The lone early egg is fine, but the other 4 need to lose way more moisture. I'm worried that the 4-5 days of high humidity needed for the lone egg's lockdown will prevent them from losing the last of the mositure they need to- 'cause they're only on day 14 as of tomorrow.
Since I'm home all the time I'm debating just checking for internal pips every hour during the day and just locking down then. (and raising the humidity at night just in case)
