Is it safe/ok?
I have two bantam hens and I just saw one of my Full size Roos mount it. It looked super odd and really weird and difficult. I was afraid the hen would get broke.
Wisdom/insights please?

Yikes. I would definitely worry about injury or death in that case. Can you separate the bantams?

What breed roo and what breed(s) bantams? If the roo is a small(ish) standard breed and the hens are a large(ish) bantam breed it may be ok.

If he is huge and they are tiny I would separate them from him.

The Roo is a Sapphire Gem, and the bantam is... I don’t know what kind haha she is about the size of a 6-8 week chicken. More on the 6-7 week honestly.
It’s really rare, she got caught while eating. Every time I’ve been out watching them, the bantam hens see the Roo coming and they are gone like the roadrunner. Fast little devils haha

I would definitely separate them. Would be terrible for something to happen to them

Sadly no, I’m tapped out cash wise and equipment wise for building materials.
I am going to begin removing some of the roosters this weekend though seeing as I have too many.

Woah! That’s tiny-my pullets are 11 weeks now and they’re super small already! I would definitely separate it isn’t safe to leave a giant rooster with them, it’s like mating a chihuahua with a Great Dane! I would be worried about safety to

Are they allowed free range of the yard? If so maybe just let the tiny ones out....or get creative on fashioning a small daytime space for them.

Check Craigslist for free stuff you could use too....pallets make quick fences.

My ducklings grew faster than my duck house went up so spent time in a shanty. ;)
