bI grew up on a farm, but I never dreamed I’d end up turning my backyard into one! This is my first attempt at raising chicks! I started by brooding 6 chicks at the end of July. They are all thriving and in their new coop! I decided to try brooding 3 turkey poults that are now just over a week old and I thought I would have more time in the small brooder, but this morning 2 had escaped and the 3rd was on the edge! luckily i got them all back in and looks like they are all okay! guess i’m working on a larger brooder today!

Nice! Hi there

look at those lil cuties!

I'm with ya! I too grew up on a farm... And I built my own as soon as I possibly could! Glad to hear you're sticking with it!

You'll learn anything you need to know here... It's a wonderful, and friendly flock of helpful people here! Looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing stories of your little farm!

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy you've decided to join us :ya
Turkey poults can be a real blast, my first time with them, came in and had 25 running around the garage and not one in the brooder. Who knew they could jump and fly at a week old? I'll look for you on the turkey forum.
