I have a 3 year old Serama rooster who has a possible fungal infection on his comb. He’s had it for a few months already and it’s caused the back part of his comb to fall down. I’ve tried treating with monistat yeast infection cream because I saw in a thread that it would make it go away and it seemed to start going away but then it came back looking very crusty and dry. (Photos that are in darker less quality lighting show) I’ve been putting the cream almost every night for a little less than a week but now it looks white and peeling and smells extremely bad, like gym socks/smelly feet (high quality good lighting photos attached). Should I stop using the monistat or keep applying? What should I try instead? I am at a loss, I love my baby very much and don’t want it to spread.

He has no other symptoms and allows me to apply cream without much discomfort. He lives inside in one of the huge dog playpens. He is my only chicken (I work from home so he gets a lot of social time and I take him outside sometimes) he is eating and drinking normal feed and water and his poop is same as always. He has sawdust bedding in part of the playpen but the rest is mats. Please help!!!

I’ve been applying but it’s not getting any better, is there anything else I can do?
The iodine shouldve cleared it up. It would be best to take him to a vet and have them scrape a skin sample and look at it under a microscope to see what you're dealing with and go from there. Tell them the treatments you administered to your rooster.

Will do, thank you for all of your help!
