Interesting; just about every motoring publication has done an article or two on the abbreviated range when towing a loaded trailer. Motor trend tested it with a 3500 lb trailer, a 5100 lb trailer and a 7500 lb trailer and their data showed a max range of 100 miles on a full charge towing the 7500 lb trailer and 130 miles towing the 5100 lb trailer vs 280-300 miles unladen. So the best case scenario is the Lightning will have half its range or more when towing. If it had an ICE engine and a 20 gallon tank, that would equate to about 6.5 mpg. My Volvo VNL 760 tractor trailer with its 13 liter diesel engine gets 7.5 mpg at 80,000 gvwr. It sounds like you might have a Lightning; if you do, how far can you tow a 5500lb trailer on a charge?
