Hey! @Hayden Goseek @Coops Dad where's the meme of Martha Stewart feature on SI. TBH I couldn't actually look at it... Some things you just can't unsee. 😅😂
Remember, Y'all asked for it! Not as bad as you may think at 81yo. Now remember I'm a nurse so I've seen a few at every age. I'm also in my late '60's so I have a different perspective. So here's an interview she had with an aquantience of mine, Hota (that's a story for another day.)

Correct; they don't suffer symptoms. It's just a background infection.
Umm...

Around this time, (early 1970's) Dr. Eleanor Storrs found that armadillos infected with M. leprae experimentally eventually came down with symptoms of leprosy, even having the same skin lesions and nerve damage found in human cases.

Armadillos give birth to idrntical quadruplets, which make them ideal research subjects. They keep one individual healthy (or used to, not sure if this is still practiced) as a control and give the other 3 leprosy. They don't treat one as a secondary control. They treat one with standard treatment and treat the final one with experimental treatments. But like I said, not sure if this is still done.
