Funniest Thing About Raising Chickens

For me and Mrs Raptor so far in our chicken journey its when they're chick's.

When they get tired and start to look like heroin addicts slowly nodding off and and then faceplant into shavings.

Nothing else so far has had us laughing so much since we got these birds.

Many years ago I had a group of leghorn bantam show roosters in the cellar so that their combs would not freeze. We were having carpet laid (yeah it was that era) in our son's bedroom when the installers heard them crowing. One asked the Princess, "Do you have roosters around here?" She replied, "Yes, in the cellar." He elbowed his buddy and said, "Damn, just like the Beverly Hillbillies." The Princess was not amused, but it generated a story that I have told many times. The roosters got moved outside.
