As most of you know we have recently integrated our 9 week old chicks with the layers and the roo. Oddly enough they keep their little flocks seperate, but today when I came home they were all out in the coop, and the poor roo, who is dumb as a box of rocks couldn't figure out what happened with all these new chickens! He finally managed to get his girls in the hen house, and the chicks were jousting and running and having time of their lives. Pretty soon there is only 3 left outside. One looks over and thinks "OH NO" and ran full bore to then house. Then another does it.
The last one is walking around chatting with us and then turns around and notices she is alone. She looked around in a panic and ran to the hen house, but instead of a straight run, she had to trip over a dust bath hole, and ear of corn and ramp getting to the hen house. Boy did we have a laugh at that one.
