some of my hens have dark purple around the edges of there combs and waddles, is this a problem that I should be worried about?

I have a Serama roo, Little Man, that has black/purple on the back of his comb. We live in West Texas and it gets about 108+ every single day. I know it couldn't have gotten frost bite, so did the heat burn his comb?
