Funny/Cute nightly ritual with pictures

Haha yeah, I suppose to a person who is used to a cat or a dog this would probably seem odd right? Giggles. What can is say. I love my feathery kids.

I'm so glad I found this post! Your birds are gorgeous and the pics are just too funny
My Coco (SLP) is just like this, but I've only brought her into the living room once (along with Silkie, Bloo). I've been afraid my late hours would be bad for them, as far as not getting enough rest. It looks like yours do just fine! I'm still trying to fit them for diapers. I hope I can get away with keeping Coco as a house chicken, at least. Bloo doesn't seem to care one way or the other, but Coco is very attached to me.
I'm starting to wonder if it's a Polish thing? I see a lot of them as shoulder birds

Ya know, I don't know if it is a polish thing or not as my polish is a very flighty spazzy bird. I raised the little turd and she still runs screaming if I try to pick her up lol. And as far as them not getting enough rest, I don't go to sleep till about 1 in the morning. But if the chickens don't get in their cage at a decent hour (which they normally don't since night time they are attached to my leg) then they just curl up where I am at an pass out until I put them in their cage. For the past hour my chickens have been snoozing on my desk and just woke up to get a drink of water (I spoil them and keep a cup of water on my desk when they are up here). I am sure at any minute they will go back to sleep. Basically..they get their rest when they want it.

Thank you for the great ideas! I'll have to see how Coco will take to my hours. She definitely loves to be on or near me. Her previous family raised her well, but thought she was "odd" by how she just takes to being around the animals and people.
It's so funny, because my macaw gets very ill if his sleep is messed with! He'll be cranky all day if I get him up before 11 am. He throws his food and screams. I usually have to let him take a nap during the day. He can't perch normally. When he falls asleep, his feet let go, so we do have to modify his sleep space. The lory and senegal will stay up after dark, but when they're ready to go to bed, that's it, turn off the lights and cover them up!
But your chickens aren't as concerned? I thought they would be even more strict in their sleep patterns. After seeing the "dead" chicken pics, it's going to be fun to see how well Coco likes moving into the living room!

Nope, my chickens don't act any differently with staying up late or not. From what I know about macaws they are more high maintenance. Chickens normally just go with the flow from my experience. They will curl up during the day and snooze for about 15 minutes here and there as chickens do. And if they really want to go to bed at night then they just go to sleep where every they want. Me staying awake doesn't keep them awake if they don't want to be

The same with all my other birds. They are all kept in the livingroom and my sleeping patterns don't bother them at all. All of my birds are out during the day and in the cage at night..Well I should say most of them. My sparrow and 2 parakeets go in a cage at night but my 2 other parakeets and cockatiels have full flight privledges 24/7. Their door is never closed. The two other parakeets used to be like that but I am using them as "mommy and daddy" to the sparrow to help show her how to go about eating the seeds and everything which is absolutely working wonderfully. When the baby gets the hang of it then all of the birds will have full flight privledges.

Too cute! I love your chickens!

I used to have a couple house chicks that would perch on the top of the screen of my laptop, but eventually they got too big for it, of course!
