yup. You read right. She was born and raised outside with VERY little handling..the guy just moved her around in different pens and that was it. Not saying he mistreated his chickens at all. He takes very good care of his flock. Amazingly so. Just not lovey dovey with them. I had 2 chickens. One was sylar and one was another polish names Navi. Navi turned out to be a rooster and got very aggressive with my cockatiels. I wasn't mad at him in the least because he was only doing what roosters do but I could not let my cockatiels get hurt and I was not going to cage either one of them or lock them up in rooms. It wouldn't be fair to either of the birds so I found him a new home that had plenty of chickens and lots of room and kids to play with. I then got a little baby chicken because both Sylar and my daughter were upset with the lack of another chicken. That didn't go so well. The same day I got the baby she passed away during a seizure. I was heart broken and said enough was enough. I was already upset with the loss of Navi and then the new baby? No more chickens for me. I was fine with just sylar. But my husband knew I was upset and made an appointment with a chicken breeder for me to go pick out a chicken and imformed me about it. I was hesitant but went anyways. There were HUNDREDS of chickens. No joke. I was dumbfounded. We walked around and walked around and then I saw her. She just..glowed from the rest of them. yes, they were all beautiful but something about her. And she stood at the fence and just looked at me. I said "I want her" No questions asked about the price, her breeding, nothing. I wanted HER. And about 30 minutes after I got her home she was like putty in my arms. I fell in love with her in that instant. She is a princess. You can do anything to her and she is great. I just can't believe that she was raised outside with no handling! it was like she was raised to be indoors! The first time I put a diaper on her I figured she would flip her lid. But nothing! Sylar has been getting a diaper put on her since she started getting feathers and she still acts like I am killing her while I am putting it on lol I absolutely love the contrast between them. Suprisingly they get along great! There was no nipping or snootiness at all when I brought Akello here.
I will try to keep snapping pictures as often as possible of my silly chickens! I also love taking more photography like pictures of them..you know..get the beauty shots lol here are several of my newest ones.
