Basically, you scoop some of your feed pellets/crumble into a container and pour water over it. Then, you cover it with a breathable cloth or paper towel, and 3-4 days later, it starts to smell like sourdough. Then, you strain it and feed it. From what I understand, it can completely take the place of regular feed health wise. I only feed it as a side dish, though. I don't want it getting the feeder all crusty or moldy.
