Don't worry, the eggs I was mailing got to the P.O. safely! I was a little the worse for wear, though. Today, it's raining a cold, dreary rain, just above freezing. Dh and I were leaving to mail eggs and run errands and as always, I got out of the car to open the gate so he could drive through. When I got out, I felt something cold and wet on the back of my jeans, about mid-thigh level. There was a small wet spot, so I thought, okay, my thigh-length coat dripped on my pants. The car seat wasn't wet so we drove on into town, about 15 miles or so to mail off the three boxes of eggs. When I get out of the car at the P.O., my pants feel even wetter so I open my coat and see a giant wet spot inside the liner right about where the packet is on the left side. My DH says, hey, did you have an EGG in that pocket? OMGosh! I collected two hatching eggs and one from the laying side, but I forgot the egg from the layers when I was putting the hatching eggs in the bsmt. Plus, I dont usually wear that coat anyway. Geez, now I have to remove my coat in the cold rain, which soaked up most of the yolk, thank goodness (and is machine washable!), but I have this big sticky wet spot on the back of my leg and we are now on our way to the feedstore and Walmart both to get supplies we've run out of. My sweet DH gives me his leather jacket because I'm freezing and eventually, the wet spot dried enough to not be noticable. So, that's my little story of baptism by egg yolk. Anyone else do dumb stuff like that?
