Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Mail Eggs....

I've done it too.. yuck!


My funniest moment, though, was when I had collected the eggs from the henhouse in my little basket. I slipped on the ice under the snow.. managed not to fall, but eggs went flying out everywhere. Snow was super light and fluffy, so eggs sank right in with only a little dot to show where they landed.. and in the end I only found 7 out of the 9 I'd had originally... Guess they are still up there.. buried in snow.

I'm guilty of finding them in my coat pockets too!!...have had them crack but never fully yolked out my coat

I did the same thing Cynthia except my egg was in my Pajama Pants Pocket. It was freezing so I went out early in the morning real quick to see if there were any eggs (I wanted to get them before they froze). Well I tossed the egg in my pocket and not even thinking about it I ran back in the house and fed the dogs. Collected the feed pans and then went to get back in the bed (it was Sunday, sleep in day!). Soon I felt something wet on my leg and I thought well that is just great you idiot! So needless to say I now have a bowl I use to collect them.

A few weeks ago my mom collected the eggs for me because I was out on a horseback ride. She forgot abot the egg in her pocket and it broke sometime throughout the day, she didn't wear the coat for like 2 weeks and when she put it on she found the 2 week old splattered gross egg still in her pocket! It was soooo gross!

Haven't broken one yet, knock on wood! but if I have only collected one or two, they always go in my pockets! Very funny post Cynthia, guess the "yokes on you', lol!​

Oh Cyn... I almost missed this thread!! All I can say is EWWWWW!

But apparently y'all have been collecting eggs too long LOL. We have to practically draw straws to see who GETS to go find the eggs while the rest of us wait at the window. Then the precious little egg that gets found gets passed to all of us one by one and then put in the egg carton by who laid it, size and color. The day is a ways off when there are so many that we forget they are there

I got a funny story but I have to tell you this first. My local newspaper has been writing a couple of articles that bobcats are moving from P.A. and working there way into NJ and my backyard is a lot of woods . My dad is also telling me the bobcats are coming to NJ also

Ok now here is the story

One night I went to go feed my chickens and I didnt have a flashlight. I go into the cage and dumped the food and I walk out to check on my other cage of chicknes but as soon as i walk out of the first cage I saw an something move and I jumped and my first reaction was to yell bobcat and throw my Bucket of food at it to scare it away. The funny part was that is was a chicken that escaped lol Dont worry I didnt hit the chicken the bucket missed
