*nanako cocked her head.*

Nanako: who is sulliver again??
“Oh yeah- the leader of my gang.” Rocket said, having forgotten that she didn’t know who he was.
“We have to warn him!” She announced. She paced back and forth on the traffic sign, raised her wings and-
…lowered them with a wince.
“I can’t fly that far, though..”

“We have to warn him!” She announced. She paced back and forth on the traffic sign, raised her wings and-

“I can’t fly that far, though..”
Nanako: where does your gang even live??

Tippy panted, shivering between breaths, on a stunted tree branch. At the sight of the incoming gang pigeons, he had realized with a horrible sinking feeling in his crop that he had been too slow. They would all perish anyway. So he did the logical thing- flew away. Like the coward I am. He thought with bitter resentment. Oh, I hope.. at least some were able to get away. He had flown as far as he could away from the fighting. Now he was near the center of the city, where the lieutenants and general roosted. The sky was rapidly darkening, and Tippy fluffed up his feathers against the cold.
Tippy was having a bad day.

He had escaped the massacre. But, this was only because the gang members meant to catch any runaways from the Pier flock had recognized him and allowed him to go.

They knew of his betrayal now.

Tippy had been chased halfway across the city. Nowhere was safe for him. He huddled in a shrub on the side of the road.

Unknown to him, Rocket and Nanako were just a few flaps away. So, when he stepped out of the bush onto the sidewalk, he froze, seeing the two pigeons perched above.

(Thanks! I thought there had to be some reason why all the gang leaders, lieutenants, and One-Toe would all gather together. :p)
Speedy shook his head in confusion. “Strange that they got so spooked. They seemed like decent-” he paused, seeing Cement, Russet, and what looked like a large seagull approaching the nesting grounds.

Cement landed and stepped towards the messenger. The pigeon quickly marched over to her.
“Gang Leader Cement,” he started off, his words sounding like part of a well-used script, “our almighty General One-Toe requests that you join her for the annual meet tomorrow. The meet will start when the sun is at its highest point in the sky.” He bobbed his head and waited for a question or a dismissal.

Cement nodded an absent dismissal to the messenger. He sped off.
The meet.. I see now why Suliver chose that day. She thought. But how did he know?

(I put all the named npcs on the character page if that helps.)
“The annual meet!” Russet muttered. He waited until the messenger was out of view. “No wonder Sulliver chose that date. Just as soon as we think we know everything that’s going on in this city, something new crops up. It’s too much work living here. If only we could move the gang to a... I don’t know!” Russet knew the city backwards and forwards, but ask him what lay beyond, and he’d shrug.

*nanako looked at the new pidgeon curiously.*
Tippy looked up at the two with wide eyes.

He mumbled something.

“What?” Rocket shouted, making Tippy flinch.

“I said..” Tippy cleared his throat nervously. He was shivering as he crouched low to the pavement beneath his feet.

“Are you going to kill me?”

Cement sighed softly. Some part of her agreed with Russet. If they moved the gang, they wouldn’t have to deal with this constant violence.

It was a nice thought.

But, of course, it was only a thought for a reason. They had squeakers, eggs, and more than a few pigeons who had started to stiffen with age. Not to mention that the gang knew this place. Moving would be downright dangerous- they wouldn’t know the location of food, water, shelter, and enemies.

With our luck, wherever we moved would be just as chaotic as here. Cement thought wryly. As she thought about that, she observed their surroundings, a small smile gracing her beak.

“If we could move safely, I’m still not sure we would.” Cement finally murmured aloud. “This is our home.”

Cement stared towards the gang. Our gang.

“Now it’s time to prepare.”
