(Between the pier and Eggshell Island?“Where?” Ritz asked. (Where even are they? Nighttime dark or storm dark? )
That doesn't seem nearly far enough, thought Ritz, pumping his not-aching wings all the way to the pier and landing on it. "It doesn't seem safe here," he said, looking about him nervously. A fugitive.(Between the pier and Eggshell Island?
I’m assuming it’s like 4-5pm.)
Fish Sticks spotted a boat. “The pier!” He announced, pumping his aching wings faster.
“Everyone thinks I’m dead.” Fish Sticks pointed out. He imagined that a gull seeing him now would just dismiss him as a ghost and pay them no mind. It was a flawless plan! That doesn't seem nearly far enough, thought Ritz, pumping his not-aching wings all the way to the pier and landing on it. "That is a good point," said Ritz. Fish Sticks wasn't very recognizable. Considering the abundance of scrawny ring-billed gulls, any bird who spotted Fish Sticks was a different scrawny ring-billed gull and move on. "Maybe we need to give you an 'alter-ego' though."“Everyone thinks I’m dead.” Fish Sticks pointed out. He imagined that a gull seeing him now would just dismiss him as a ghost and pay them no mind. Fish Sticks wasn’t entirely sure what an ‘alter-ego’ was, but he didn’t dare to ask. What if, before his amnesia, he had known what it meant? That would be embarrassing."That is a good point," said Ritz. Fish Sticks wasn't very recognizable. (frankly I still don't know what it means?)Fish Sticks wasn’t entirely sure what an ‘alter-ego’ was, but he didn’t dare to ask. What if, before his amnesia, he had known what it meant? That would be embarrassing.
As they flew, an idea came to Fish Sticks. “Hey, what if I gave myself a codename?” He squawked excitedly, having no idea that’s exactly what Ritz had just said.
“Hmm.. what about… Sticks Fish!” Fish Sticks said, glowing with triumph at his wonderful idea.
Sticks Fish is better. Fish Sticks thought, though he didn’t say it out loud. Seeing the pier ahead, he started to descend.(frankly I still don't know what it means?)
"That's exactly what an alter ego is. I think," said Ritz. "Unless it means a name change and a personality change. Or a change in your amount of ego. That would really make more sense."
"Sticks Fish? Maybe something more subtle?" Ritz asked. "Like Lysander." Strangely, that was the first name that came to mind, despite not being subtle at all.
Ritz landed on the pier. He took Fish Stick’s rare silence as an affirmative. “Okay, Lysander, what do we do next?”Sticks Fish is better. Fish Sticks thought, though he didn’t say it out loud. Seeing the pier ahead, he started to descend.
