~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

Rocket took a moment to observe her surroundings, ignoring the itchy paper wrapping. She saw a pigeon that could be Nanako’s friend, Dane. And there was one of the pigeons she had talked to yesterday, puffed up defensively on a nest. That pigeon over there looked like... Nickel?!

Cement cooed an agreement. First, though, she flapped over to the always-dependable Rikka and asked about the health of the new arrivals. Rikka informed her that three were unharmed, though there were two with wing injuries. “That youngling, Pita, might not be able to fly again. Our field medic, as you know, doesn’t have experience with much other than minor injuries.” She cooed, “Oh, and Pearl’s been taking care of that egg.” She gestured to the newly dedicated pigeon.
*nanako woke after a while and stretched her wings and legs.*

“Morning,” Russet said softly. Cement had that anticipatory look in her eyes. In Russet’s experience, it was good to get it over with and ask her about it. “We should probably discuss whatever’s on your mind over breakfast. The fields.” Maximum efficiency. Making three decisions in only one sentence (and a fragment.)

Cement flapped back to Russet, landing beside him. Several birds had already taken off to the fields to forage for various seeds for breakfast. There was an excited tension in the air today, as everyone knew the coup was soon.

Russet located a piece of popcorn. He picked it up and dropped it at Cement’s feet. “I’d pay to know what’s on your mind,” he said.
Rocket cocked her head. “Is it just me, or did that Nickel follow us here?” She asked, eyes narrowed as she watched the blue checkered pigeon.
“Yep!” Nickel fluttered over.

Rocket hopped backwards, startled, her eyes going wide with surprise. She had been staring at a totally different blue check the whole time. Quickly, she regained her composure, puffing herself up defensively. Pretending as if that didn’t just happen, she fixed Nickel with a glare. “What’re you doing here?!”

Cement picked up the piece of popcorn, hiding a small smile as she gulped it down. “The gulls.” She explained simply. She picked at some assorted grass seeds. “I want to meet with their leader- Fish Sticks. Positions,” she picked at a couple more seeds, “-positions of our fighters. We need surprise. Gulls aren’t very stealthy.”

“I followed you. And why not?” Nickel asked.

Russet pecked the remaining popcorn on the ground. “Nope, they aren’t,” he agreed. “Didn’t you say that scout gull just fell into the middle of our flock?” He wiggled his toes in the air. “Do you think the webbed toes are very clumsy?”
