I’m starting to realize that most red bar pigeons aren’t orange at all and that means when I describe Russet as orange he is either
a) a rare 1 percent that aren’t red, but orange
b) a yellow bar pigeon which is more frequently “orange”
c) not orange at all and just described inaccurately
To be fair he’s supposed to be russet which describes a typical red bar pigeon to a T so I think c is probably the correct answer.

The Baldheads are *special*. Typically the other pigeons never attack but when you walk down the baldhead aisle that’s all you get.
Usually, they don’t manage to swallow the peas, but sometimes they do. Even with the tiny beaks! Recently I bought some “economic” pigeon feed and I was sad to see huge corn kernels that I fear my Arabian Trumpeters are too small to swallow. But we shall see.

Well, most people think of red pigeons as brown, so calling them orange isn’t that bad

They’re so round and angry!

Small Neet Neet can eat corn and peas just fine, he just doesn’t like them. XD Pigeons can be very picky when offered a variety of seeds.

Yeah, I was surprised. I recognized most of the breeds, and there were a lot that I do know that weren’t there. There were few of those no beak breeds. I guess they’re rare because not only are they dysfunctional, many people share my opinion of them. That’s my guess anyway. They’re plain ugly. The Silver Strasser stood out to me and Mom the most. Spectacular. Too big for my taste since I like the little slender pigeons that fly around but the most gorgeous pigeon in the show.

Yeah, the beakless pigeons are just a bit sad looking.

I do love the color of the silver strasser. Almond colored pigeons are also so pretty. Though my favorite breeds remain Birmingham rollers and good old fashioned feral pigeons. XD

I love almond pigeons. My mom hates the color though because it looks like you mushed two birds together. I’m going to get some Birmingham Rollers from Kessel once my pigeon pen is done, hopefully. So I can breed some to roll for my viewing pleasure. I won’t roll the parents, though, there’s too much risk. I feel bad that I bought the Trumpeters before I was prepared for pigeons but now I realize that it was a very rare chance, considering I didn’t see any at the show. And the Trumpeters have become one of my favorite breeds now that I have seen all those to compare. 😅
