I liked your picture, NovaAman, of the chickens following the cat. My 18 week olds do the same. Does anyone have a theory about why? Do they just think the cat is a bigger, uglier member of the flock?!? Our ginger neutered tom has never had chickens before and it took a while of short interactions under close supervision to get him well behaved. He largely ignores them now - but they really annoy him when they follow right behind him...... Maybe he thinks they cramp his hunting style

I'm not sure why. My chickens do it and it scares the cat. He had a rooster that protected him from our dogs for awhile, but I think the roo was scarier than the dogs!

Even the week old chicks scare him. He sniffed one the other day then ran under the truck when it peeped. Maybe cats just aren't threatening enough, mine certainly isn't.

That's his foot hanging off. One of the NNs walked up and pecked it like 5 minutes after I took this. I really don't blame him for being scared.......
