Fuzzy's Farm

See what I mean? I mean, how tempting is this? There are a few skids in here that would work for a floor for a very LARGE coop. OH. YEAH. I wish I had a trailer to be able to get them. I don't think I'd so much as build a new coop, but be able to put a floor in the back shed, all the way around the perimeter to keep the wild critters out, and fill the center with nice fresh soil/sand... I wish I had a trailer! LOL

oh my goodness, the possibilities in there are endless.

Are you going to do something with them!?

Thank you for the advice regarding my eggers everyone - especially the link fuzzybutt, that helped. I'm pretty sure that one I was referring to has passed away, but the rest are in lockdown so I better not open it to remove (nothing smells funny).

This is kind of a funny group of people (thus far) - I like funny.

Me too! We are seriously experiencing chicken math. DH is wanting almost another dozen which means another coop and run so all those materials look soooo good! What are we going to do with all the eggs?

Kids and grandbabies have come and went. Lovely day. Three year old helped cut up a Jack-o-lantern while the 1 year old had to be restrained because he was fascinated with the pumpkin's innards (the chicks got those). Everybody played with the goats and the three year old carried around every chicken several times. Thank goodness they are used to it - ha. Great meal and now we are just watching football and recovering - LOL!

Yes, we are! AND, I am going to build a coop for the meat birds with the stuff I picked up today, for next spring. I also got some wood to make my 3x4 coop a completely enclosed coop.

There has to friends with pick - ups or trailers. If no, there is always U-HAUL. Looks like some ply or something there that could be used too!

I went to meijer and ended up with pizza, popcicles, hotdogs, cookies and milk. How does this happen? Oh, you take kids with you... Yup. Sand blast it...
LOL. My kids know better than to do that. It's DH you have to look out for. I refuse to take him in a store. He gets the grabby fingers going and I wind up with 5 things I didn't mean to buy that cost $40. Not a shopping buddy, that one.
Anyone had any experience with barn cats?
Only if you count 9 as having experience.

Our cats are good with the chickens. They don't chase them or hunt them. Just kind of meander around the yard with them and from time to time join in eating the treats thrown out there. They get mice sometimes, but are really good at catching frogs.

Poor chickens got a bit shafted today. It's been raining on and off all day and I decided after the last really heavy one around 4:30p to have the kids go round them up for the night. I though it was just going to keep doing it, but wouldn't you know about 20 minutes later the sun was out and shining? IT stayed that way long enough to make me feel bad about the early bed time. At least it started raining again before their usual bed time so now I feel a bit justified.
