You'd think that... BUT, when companies are now asking for your FB page, or what forums you belong too, and who are you, I think that is invasive to your privacy. BUT then again, I learned a long long time ago, back in the day of the first forums, being BBS boards, that if you don't want people to know your business, you do not put it on the internet. Once there, always there. The internet is your friend, but it is also your worst enemy.

You can post something somewhere, ranting and raving about work, venting and letting off steam really, but some one you know, or knows you and is always looking to "BE" something to someone may take that venting to the people over you at work, and now you are in trouble. They may not say anything to you, but next thing you know, every little infraction, or blip is going to be against your record since they are now ACTIVELY watching you because you put it out there. Fair? No, not at all. BUT, history people. This isn't anything new. Its the same old intimidation, just in a new pretty package.

Thus the advantage of going into business for oneself I guess... i mean a patient may refuse to see me b/c of something they see but then again on FB and here they would have to be my friend to know me and see my stuff and therefore it would be unethical to treat them anyway !!!

Yay! My mom told me to go ahead and write a bill for eggs the restaurant has not paid for the last six months! Here comes da money! I'm cutting them a deal, figuring they take 5 eggs a week (usually more like 6 or 7, but it's been less too) and I'll charge .50 less a dozen too. Cool............at least I'm gettin' somethin'

True, but someone else who you are friends with may tell some one who your aren't friends with. Privacy settings only go so far... I can be your friend, and copy and paste your page to another source to share something with someone else who isn't your friend...
