Fuzzy's Farm

Good morning.
Before I complain about my night...I know there are people with more problems/ worries than myself.

How is Kayla? You are a very strong mama Kim!

I can't even imagine what you are going through. I hope you both got some rest last night.

No more seizures!!!

I got very little sleep. I had a little boy calling me into his room and coughing last night. I would get into that hazy almost dream mode then "MOOOOOOMMMM!!!" Finally I got the humidifier out and filled up. Only we have 3 humidifiers and with my lack of sleep I had some difficulty figuring which base and jug and fan went to which one...I finally got it altogether and it was almost time to wake up. Well, I went back to bed anyway and lucky for me the kids were late to arrive this morning... It is going to be a long day... I hope the kids will take a long nap!

I am off to let the chickens out. They will be chicken cussing for sure. (especially the SGs... they were locked up all day yesterday because of the rain)

Fuzzy... you are too soft to disipline chickens LOL I firmly believe animals know what they can get away with and with whom they can. I am not one of those people. LOL

(Not really sure how I would disipline a chicken for eating sugar... but there would be scolding and threats LOL)
Nah, i have my limits. I have whupped chicken butt for fighting, or attacking me. I am a softie, but there's a steel core in there! You have no idea HOW relieved i was.............
My banties and regulars have been getting along fine, but the little roo is getting his tail finally, a sure sign of adulthood. I think Henry would be satisfied with a bit of pecking and a standoff, (trash boy) but i am not too sure about blue anymore. (plucky's son) Even though Blue is only 2 weeks to 6 mo he hasn't crowed or done anything besides chick games (chasing girls and pecking head for dominance) He worries me, he has none of the paternal instincts when he sees babies, or gets treats..................even plucky was doing all this at an early age. We are talking about putting blue down :( There were a couple times where he was too mean, worries me.
But then again, it resulted in VERY smart chickens

ha ha! I went for softies and this batch of eggs got to listen to Delihlah every evening as they grew lol. (Soppy 80's romantic music) They say babies can hear through the belly and the egg

So i talked to them too, especially there at the end so they would recognize my voice! Now they are in the family's shed they get the weather channel and whatever DH watches while hunting . lol. They are the huggiest chicks i've ever had!!! Each and every one EXPECTS to be picked up and hugged and petted for a few minutes every night before i leave. They all line up and wait!

Well, Mom wasn't on again this morning. Makes you worry. I sure hope the doctors can get her girl on a working cocktail soon. My mom is epileptic, and was never able to drive or be very independant because of it. Guess that is what makes her so dependant now... Anyway, got a few friends who are also epileptic and they do drive and are completely independant because they've got a good cocktail, I sure do hope and pray that they'll get it right sooner rather than later.

Fuzzy, how's the new job?

BYFM, I let my girls and boys out a bit late this morning too. The only one to have a tisk fit was Criptoe. Boy does she grumble and complain. I dumped a handfull of worms in front of her and she was instantly transported to the land of bliss. LOL.

Getting to be the time of year to get the inside feeders ready. We only have 11 hours of light now. Rgg production has seriously slacked off. Only getting 5-6 eggs a day, and that includes the 2 that just started laying. I have 3 who aren't laying because they wanted to be broody, and Coco is just gone broody, so working on breaking her. Then Skeeter's babies are only 2 weeks tomorrow, so she'll not lay for another 2 weeks... maybe. And Criptoe hasn't started laying again yet either, though her comb is starting to look like she might start back up soon. So that's 5 birds with a good excuse. I still have 12 that should be... Oh, and the Vanilla Snowbunny quit laying too. haven't gotten a white egg in 4 days... And nope she isn't broody. But she has a roost buddy now. And she roosts 3 feet up off the coop floor. She used to only roost on the foot up roost. Guess she needed to cuddle, so she moved up to be buddies with Beulah, Pretty, and Negrita. They all look so different from each other, they are quite the group. But they've all got fuzzy feet.

I sure hope this rain stops. I have a wire/metal in my tire. Noticed it yesterday, but didn't have time, or inclination to take the tire off and plug it. Need to do it today if the rain stops. It'be been slow leaking for the last few days. It'll hold air, so however it is in the tire, as long as I don't fill the tire FULL it'll hold for driving but be near flat the next morning. I just hope I can actually plug it. If not, new tire here I come. LOL. The joys...

LOL I just get the cheap timers from meijer or wallyworld. I can guarentdamntee that it will be worthless by the end of winter. All dust covered. I think though this year, I might wrap a baggy around it. I have the end of a power cord that comes into the top corner of the coop, 3 things can plug into it, so I'd be able to bag it with like, one of those gallone zipper bags... No dust! Protect my $3 investment. HEHE

I just started leaving the door open overnight because I would be late in the mornings and Temple flies RIGHT at my eyes. The EYES!!!!!!!! The EYES!!!!! No predators get past Boom-Boom anyways so it doesn't really matter if I close the door or not. Nothing's going to get them. Now when Boom Boom's gone, then I dunno what we'll do...............
