Fuzzy's Farm

Well, my daughter did something that I highly resent and now is trying to suck up. Hate to tell her it won't work.
Ha ha. My oldest son did something like that the other day. Only he pouts, even though he's in the wrong. My DIL just rolls her eyes and eventually he will apologize. Marrying her was he best thing he ever did.

What great names! What is a Painted Desert? How many do you have?
The easiest and closest way to describe a Painted Desert is to compare it to a Paint Horse. It is a color breed. A Dorper is white with a black head and a Katahdin is white. They are meat sheep. I only have about 30 something right now because I sold off some earlier this year. Was getting to many. Lambs are due in Feb.

I've just finished "Hit by a Farm" and "Sheepish" by Catherine Friend. She describes lambing and I think I would be so worried I would just flip out, LOL. We thought our pygmy was pregnant and about to deliver and both DH and I sat up in the barn all night watching her. We were totally exhausted the next day. Took her into the vet after 2 nights of this and found out she was having a false pregnancy. Now DH has signed up for three little nigerian doelings that we get at Christmas. He wants to breed them eventually. I will be a basket case!

You just need to watch them and let nature take it's course.

Well, I am off to put some laundry in and then maybe back to bed for awhile. We have youngest grandson's christening this morning and getting DH up early, or even into church, will take some work - ha.

I know. Easier said than done for me. I tend to be out there pacing or holding a hoof - LOL!
What you need to watch for the most is if they are having too difficult time. Sometimes with multiple births the legs get twisted together. Make sure you see 2 front feet and a nose coming out first. If not then you have a problem and will need to call a vet. We have gone in and pushed babies back if only one front leg is coming out but you need to know what you are doing to do this. Takes years of experience.
