Kim glad things are going better! yay on mom coming home! Sorry her knee isn't that much better hope it is on the road to better though.

Tee you should post that pic of your cat and chick in the what is that chicken thinking thread. My 9 year old grandson was looking over my shoulder and started making all kinds of comments about what each of them must have been thinking.

Nova sorry about your birds. Is it possible that if he was rough he snapped her neck? Or maybe his weight and trying to do the deed broke a rib and punctured something? I would know either but that would cause the vent too protrude. Sometimes I hate mysteries.

Silver hope things go well at the doc's.

All my barn cats a re cool with the chickens.

The last wyandotte hen from my original flock, Vonna, died in the nest box... I looked her over for injuries, couldn't see anything. Turned her over looked at her belly and her vent, and her vent was protruding... She was stiff, but her belly was still warm, and she was still warm under her wings... So... I am thinking two things could have happened... Prolapse killed her... or Florus went to mate her, Rod Stewart had a fit, they got into a fight, and she ended up dead... BUT, again, there are no injuries to her, no scratches on her back, no wounds to her face... I don't know. Florus and Rod Stewart are neither one bleeding anywhere... So, I think I might eliminate that one... So could have a prolaspe killed her that quickly? She's only 20 months old... Very healthy and active up till I just found her at 3:15...

Cold day here. Animals aren't used to this but the chicks are taking it all in stride. Goats are less enthusiastic - LOL!

Definitely going to get a couple in the spring. The little cat that we were hoping would turn into our barn cat has disappeared. Her owner found out that she was coming over here and I'm pretty sure he killed her. A very nasty man to say the least. He has two daughters who always wear this so sad expression which makes me wonder... I've tried to be nice to them but they almost run away rather than talk to anyone. Wierd and sad.

Maybe it is time for a visit from CPS?

I am almost finished with my 400+ Christmas cards... I am so sick and tired of writing my name and address over and over. What a hand cramp. I have moved on to my mom's cards. Ugh. This just dampens the spirit! Lol. Not really.

doctor visit did not go as planned for last two trips he has said fusing the ankle was an option while i smoked but replacement wasnt...so while i was scared and worried about setting up the ankle fusion, I was ready for it. Doc comes in with an attitude about everything ( which is to say the least very unusual for him ) and ends up saying he never said that and will not do the surgery until i have quit for at least 6 weeks... I.. being a smart butt and not liking his attitude ..lie and tell him i can bring in the recorder from the last two visits with him saying it..and he backs down and apologizes...said he has had several non effctive surgeries lately that he believes have been caused due to poor circulation/lack of oxygen in the blood issues he believes were caused by nothing other than the patient smoking and does not want me to go thru the surgery for nothing hence the new nonsmoking policy ... so instead we are gonna do a shot a week over 3 weeks to help with pain and movement and I (supposedly lol but probably) am going to continue trying to quit at least for the time needed for surgery and recovery (of course if i can quit for that long maybe i can stay quit this time).
So needless to say it put me in a fowl mood to start my morning. So I did some retail therapy afterwards and picked up a few more things for the in laws and the kids.. slowly but surely trying to make sure they all get at least a few things...

*sighs* I hate being broke... but good news is even though hub is sitting his good check for the first week of class may be in this week and they are trying to find him a new trainer to get him out on the road training and making money asap !!!

And How is everyone else's day going ?

ANd I say x4 on the making great new friends b/c of the birds !! I love all you gals, guys, and kids lol

I have sent out over 400 or so myself Nova so i feel ya there lol
