Fuzzy's Farm

Wow! The wind and rain really packed a punch on my summer/winter converted area! I will be back later, but I am heading out there to afix a tarp... Awful mess I have in there. I wouldn't worry so much, but the birds are still roosting in there, and I do not want them so get wet. It actually blew up under the tuftex. I am going to fit foam under the end, which unfortunetly cuts ventilation there, But.... if water blows in from the heavy rain, then what happens when the snow blows in from and easterly wind... Sucks. Maybe I will go and get wood and make a wooden roof for the winter... 2 peices will only run me about $20... Ugh......

Fuzzy, I'm so sorry about your little guy. That's hard.

I went to let the chickens out this morning and they ran out enthusiastically as ever, stopped about 6-8 feet out, turned around and went straight back to the coop. Silly birds. :p

Hi Silver! Glad you are back and your DH is back!

Everyone here made it through the night. DH and I braved the unreal wind around 2 this morning and checked on chicks and goats. All were looking at us like "what you doing out here". The barn was actually pretty cozy. - water didn't freeze in either the coop or the barn and that was with the temp dropping to 27 so guess we had it insulated pretty good. Getting the dogs to settle down was a much more difficult job. I think they were up most of the night and therefore so was I as they come in and whine and cry and try to get on the bed. Big Babies. I'm worn out and this was supposed to be my cooking day. Every Christmas I make each of my kids families 6 family-size casseroles to freeze. That's eighteen frozen meals. They love it and always tell me not to forget cooking - lol. Anyway, I've only got the chili and pot roasts done. Four more to go but I'm worn out and achy from last night so it won't get all done today.
