Fuzzy's Farm

the city came today- ON A SATURDAY- and told me I have one week to get rid of my chickens.
To be honest... whoever called could have called days ago when CL was crowing his little heart out, and they just got around to coming over today...
I am sad for you.
You will really have to make sure everyone stays quiet... No more roos... for a while.

How many chickens do you have right now? I can try to help out too. I know Robin has more room, but I thought maybe I could help because I am closer...

We had to get a new washing machine... we got one from BFs co-worker... It didn't work... the barrel never moved...
Off to get another one now...

... More money we don't have.

On Thur we went to a laundromat and it was $9 for 3 loads of laundry! And the washing machines were so small... What a rip off... will not go there again!

DS just got up from nap and he is making a shopping list... LOL
We need to go grocery shopping too...

We have really severe hot  weather - last summer had 39 days over 100 -- and are still in a major drought.  Our lake is 20feet down from it's normal level.  I was worried about everyone but we didn't lose any to heat.  I love my misters.  The girls would get under the mist and hang out when it was super hot.  I also froze water and fruit to cool them off.
[/quote. Wow been busy last couple days! Haven't been on here.. Got coop together then added more onto it. It's looking great just need chickens to go in there! Still looking , but looks like I'll be trying my hand at baby chicks in couple weeks! Wish me luck everyone!

I WAS fighting mad, now I am just crushed.

I dont bother a soul. I hang out in my backyard with my birds, and we bother nobody. I am so hurt that someone called. I put up with EVERYTHING in this neighborhood, just so I dont make waves..and have for fourteen years. Now though, someone so much as farts, I am calling the city.

So, because I want to be left alone- I am going to make a BIG HUGE production of moving my birds out. I will put them in cages in the front yard, and make sure the maximum number of people see me load them into the truck. Then I am going to move them to Robins' for a few weeks.

Then, I am bringing them back.

I will clear out their everything. Then - my husband said we will screen their whole area, falcon-proof it, and make sure the window to my utilty room is INSIDE the screened in area. If the city asks, we will say its the Cats pen. A way for them to go out.

My heart is broken really. I dont know who did it- its easy to blame my new next door neighbors. But on the flip side, its easy for someone to call, knowing I would blame the new people.

I had a great visit at Robins' and am grateful that she is my friend and someone I can take the chickens and roosters too. Thats where I was when the city came- delivering Chicken Little to Robins' house.
Having bad neighbors can suck !!! If I was closer I would help out too !!! Most of my flock are moving to my brothers..but BC he. Said any roosters will prob go to freezer camp prob gonna keep DH jg and his 2 Marian mix girls and take silkies so I can possibly get them to my sisters somehow.... that will leave me with 7 chickens n 4 ducks to eventually move

That's just horrible! Who would do such a thing? Thank goodness for Robin.

Just got back from work and popped in here and there's only 4 unread posts!

Oh, wait. It's Saturday. LOL

Mom2, that sucks. Some people have nothing better to do in their lives but to cause grief for others and stick their noses where they don't belong. Hope everything works out for you.

So I stopped to pick up a couple bales of hay today for the goats and the price was raised to $6/bale. What the????? I'm starting to really get fed up with this farm raising the price every time I go. They were only $2.50 in 2011, then raised to $5 during last years drought. That's an initial 100% mark-up followed by a 20% one now. Geesh. Looks like I need to start looking for a cheaper place to buy from even though this place is just super convenient because I go by there every time I work.
Gee, that's cheap, Tee. We pay 16.50 for a bale of alfalfa and 8.00 for Timothy. And if the drought continues, which it looks like it will, that's going to skyrocket...
