Lakenvelders? LOL. Yes, it was drying up, then it rained all night. There was a bit of standing water in the yard today, but not anywhere near the coops. YAY!
Ok, I got the wooden planks out of my rear compartment finally. I have 3 different sizes, ranging from 3.5 feet long to 4 feet long. At least that's what I am approximating by looking at them. Can't find my tape measure. I have boys. They like to measure things. Take it how you want. LOL. ANYWAY, 26 of those are 4 feet. 10 are a few inches shorter than that and 16 are 3.5. 52 in total. Close to 60, but I was approximating that number as well as I was loading. LOL. I just looked and said... hmmm. bout 60. I am good. HAHA
SO. I have a 3x4 heavy rear skid out there that is made of this wood. I might use that as the floor for the new coop. I might not. I might decide to built a 4x6 floor frame and and start from there. ALTHOUGH having planks on the floor instead of a solid floor might leave room for spilled water to drain through, but it might also leave room for mites to hang out. I am going to caulk all the sides prior to painting... Maybe I will just do a solid linoleum floor. Oh decisions, decisions. ALSO, got a roof! Yeah a nice big solid one peice for sale sign. Will of course paint that and seal it all the way around, but hey, water ain't going to go through this sucker.
SO... any idea's for how to build this thing? The planks are 1.5 inchx5.5 inch wide... (yeah, like they'd really be 2x6 even though that's what it says in the store, those liars.) Need to find an old window too.. Like from an old house...
