I think they'll be fine... Not an expert, but bet they will.

So, because I am anxious, and have to keep looking, and I am sure a lot of people who incubate for the first time did the same thing... I keep looking! And listening. I hear more peeps coming from the eggs. No more external pips yet, but I hear the internal peeping. SO, I think my little loan guy must be telling them to get their future fuzzy butts out and keep him company. That little thing has almost finished fluffing out. Going to try for a pic soon.

I'm so tired. And down. My stupid sons are fighting over a gun that their grandfather gave them. Both think they should have it. Harsh words have been said. I'm so ****** at them. Over a stupid gun of all things. I told them their grandfather would be ashamed of the whole lot of them. I'm about to the point of going and demanding to have the gun and just hide it out here at the farm. Stupid sons!!!! Some days I just want to hide from the whole lot of them. DH and I had thought of moving to Boulder and if we didn't love our house and land so much I'd just say let's leave.

Plus I just miss my dad...

Oh well, think the girls have mites on their legs so going to get out the Vaseline tomorrow and do some dosing. I've neglected them the last couple of weeks.

Do you have any red kote? I have a hard time getting the vaseline on the legs with out help. BUT I started using red kote and wow, easy to put on, also has antiseptic just in case, and yeah, works really well. It is kinda funny though when you use it on a hen with chicks. You will have PINK chicks for a few days. LOL

Any one know how much tylan to give 4 week old chick?

I'm just plain pooped here. Been burning the candle at both ends for months now, at the end of my abilities i think. One more bit of hectic, and i will be in the place i hope. Won't be pretty at first, but i do believe in fate and this is where i'm supposed to be, because everything is literally falling in to place, as far as finding what i need on the cheap.

AND, should anyone want to visit me and my house "parrot" , the only upside of being across from the office is that i am also across from the pool

Nova, dunno on the garage related bit. Stewing over it, just can't make it out. My only other guess i had to throw out there would have been to wonder over the flooding and to wonder if they got some e coli out of the water or some funky protozoa, since antibacterials won't touch them unless it's the right one. I think that strong wormer i recommended before will do those though. If you still want EE's, and these don't make it i still have my hens too, you could always have the black and white one that you had admired. She hangs out with cookie, the one with the big "honker"

Oooooo! I almost forgot to mention that just down the road a guy has a STURDY 4x8 chicken tractor for sale for $90 OBO. Used, but power washed i think because i didn't see a speck of poo on it! Barn red, a bit wore so not so bright but looks real nice. Has 3/4 of the run part covered with a green wavy plastic roof piece, and a sturdy soft rope to pull it with (If you have muscles)

If any of you want it let me know ASAP, his wife put in on CL i think and at that price it won't last past tomorrow i predict.

See, I was thinking about it being flood related too. BUT, the front part of the yard where they tend to hang didn't really flood. Also, Skatter seems to be better. I am wondering if all those worms they ate didn't cause problem though. I do understand that they can get parasites from earth worms...

My son and I just git to watch phoenix number 2 hatch! That was cool. Wish I had it on video. Will buy batteries tomorrow! Hope we can catch another one.

and tee... i vote leave them .. even after hours out they can still be viable and hatch !!! I had 5/6 that went into lock down hatch with a 4 hour power outage !!! i think they will be fine and would leave them and candle in a day or two ..


and speaking of eggs lol hows this for interesting ...

and i set a few that were not obviously ruined .. didnt expect much because well obviously someone played scramble my eggs along the way ....

and this is one of them last night at day 6 !!!
