Fuzzy's Farm

Hey girls. I was feeling halfway decent today. No upset tummy or overheating. The only thing really bothering me is this stupid headache. I've had it for almost 2 weeks now and it travels all over the left side of my head stabbing me at various intervals. Today was the first time it was barely there, but now it's popping pretty good so I should probably go take something for it. Sad thing, though, no matter what I try it never totally goes away, just lessens it a bit. I will note, though, I had myself a lazy day that was pretty stress free until I went to the store and then came home to make DH some cookies and then dinner. At that point, the kids couldn't play nice anymore and since I was trying to do stuff, my agitation level soared.

:( Sorry, i hope you feel better soon.

On a different note, i have been boggled by my cocoa's "hair" feathers she had, they were long hairs that stuck out of her feathers. Blue the roo had them really bad, cookie has them and i haven't seen them yet on hope but i'm sure they will be there. (i hope)

turns out they are "filoplumes" and are usually UNDER the feathers, and you see them when plucking; i haven't processed a bird so had never seen them.
My line of birds has unusually long ones. They are for sensing where the feathers are positioned, that had to have drove them nuts when the wind blew! But makes more sense why they adore petting so much, with their extra sensitivities! :) filoplumes are likened to whiskers.

Hi-low Ladies!!
Not much to report here...
Had a good night out with my SIL... we stayed out aaaaallllll night! And I slept over at her place.
Went to a bar and watched a friend play in his band... I had never seen him play before and just thought he was quirky with his drumming... I now see that he was born to drum.
The singer was his sister and she was a very weak singer, but I thought they played great (having NEVER played together before... Only one jam session the night before... Crazy!!)

DS got to spend the night at grandmas and BF had a night all to himself (in which he fell asleep early and woke up at 9 LOL He parties hard)

That is really neat Fuzzy!

Glad the finger is better

Hope everyone is feeling better!!!!

Sorry about your bio mom Nova... that sucks when you are expecting someone and you get no call.

I've never heard of those feather but they sound really neat. I'll make sure I pet all the girls more when I get the bandages off the finger - lol.

That flu sounds horrible, Tee. It's hit fairly hard here in Ok also. DH and I got flu shots Saturday and I've been not feeling well ever since. I know they say you can't get it from the vaccine but I still feel really yucky. Bad news is classes start this week so probably there will be lots of people out with it.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and send you good thoughts Nova about the job and Fuzzy about the trailer.

hitting the hay, another fairly early morning tomorrow.

Going to do that soon, too. Laying down helps the head so I'm just going to pop a movie in for a bit, then zzzzzzz.
Gigi, I'm wary of flu shots. I know everyone says get them, but I know people that have had reactions to them. My mom had a bad reaction almost instantly the one time she let her doc give her one. Because of how bad that was, she can't have them.

Good Morning all.

Tee- glad you are feeling better. The flu kicked my behind, for sure. However I am doing pretty well now. Its a kind of flu that doesnt really want to leave. Random hot flashes accompanied by nausea. The cough I had is pretty intense when it hits but that is becoming less and less. However, I do believe I gave myself whiplash from it. Yesterday I was convinced my brain was coming out the base of my skull- my head hurt so badly. Doesnt hurt yet today. i have to work until six. We will see how I do.

For as hot as I felt last night, I am for sure freezing right now.

AND THEN THERE WERE TWO....
roosters, that is. CL started his crowing at 230 this morning, usually he crows at 3 and doesnt stop all day long. This morning however every time he crowed, there was a big deep crow that followed. That would be the showgirl roo. Highpitched crow, deep crow...been going on for two and a half hours now. Im so thankful no neighbor has called on me, but for sure nobody is going to put up with a chorus. :( I contemlated taking them with me to work today- just to give the neighborhood a break. But it is supposed to be cold, so nobody should have any open windows and maybe they wont bother them like they MUST in the early morning hours.
