So you have hot weather too? I'm still not quite sure of what chickens I'm going to get. But thinking of getting a few pullets for now then when it starts to warm up trying baby chicks. I'm new so don't wanna get in over my head and be disappointed if my chicks was to not make it! I'd feel like a bad chicken mother! Lol

SS I have 4 chickens right now... I plan on adding more coop to mine and getting a few new chicks this spring.

Because they are never locked in the coop, I feel like I can put several more chickens in it... but I don't have enough nesting boxes
I thought about putting more nesting boxes in the enclosed run... Hmmm...

I am not sure what kind of device you are using... when you want to do multiple quotes for one post click MULTI then on the last quote click QUOTE... you can write under or over the quotes (erase... edit... bold)
You can MULTI quote several quotes over several pages... if you have to go back to click QUOTE on the last one you want quoted... don't just click it on the last quote on the page and erase it once it comes up... then answer the ones you wanted

We got some very hot weather here in MI last year too. High humidity. Lost some birds to the heat stress, though I did a lot to keep them comfortable. Lost a few afterwards, sent on in for necropsy, and they said there was damage to the birds organs related to the heat... SO... gotta keep those things in mind. Lots of ventilation and ways to cool them off. Last year, I used kids sled with cold water for them to stand in. LOL
