Fuzzy's Farm

Well, I guess it is up to me to make the first post of the day!

Sorry about the earlier oopsie... SHHHHHH.... it happens to all of us at some point or other.

Rusty.... I agree, bad mojo... Will they maybe still take the van? LOL, hey, you never know, and if it was insured beyond plpd, then maybe she can just get it either fixed, or totalled and take that money and buy a new one? Hope it will work out... how about the deer? Did it die? get a kill permit and use the meat for 1)dogs... 2) remaining good meat for dinner... That's what I did when I hit on with my old buick. Friend had some sled dogs, he took the bruised meat and they chowed in style for a few days.

The sun is out and shining today! Lot of ice from the roof dripping... SUCKS! The turkeys however really enjoy the cleared paths that the neighbor and I snow blow around the yard. Sure makes it easier for them to find a snack. I went out and took a big bowl of cracked corn, they all scattered in the opposite direction, except on brave hen. She actually came to with in feet of me and waited till I finished spreading it. She must have remembered from the last few years... Anyway, boy are their feathers just beautiful in the sun. The coppers and golds that show up, just stunning. I do have to agree, I think the turkey should be our national bird... I like bald eagles, but them turkeys really are something... Of course, not sure if you could eat them then.... Hmmm. LOL

Anyway! My broody NH is still at it. Skatter is also getting tired of being locked up in the garage. I am not wanting to put her back in the coops though with so many cockerels in there... I guess I just might be giving her more space soon... I'll figure something out.

Anyway... gotta go an boil chicken legs for the bbq. I know... but it works faster to boil them first...

Hey everyone! Sorry about the deer accident, that's bad luck all around! And I think Gigi and nova that you are both right, I need to lock them in the new digs for a couple days. They are not real bright! Figured they would be happy to have a nice warm place to roost but they are still looking for the old roost pole! but wasn't up to fighting them tonight, been putting up fence and too tired to chase chickens!! Lol.. But tomorrow rain supposed to start and rain for next 3 days so want to make sure they are warm and dry. So after church in morning going to put them on lock down! Hope everyone is keeping warn? And snow isn't too bad? Seen that north has really got hit. Have good night all!!!

. He got a deer during deer season. My other DD got one and GS got 2 one bow and the other gun so not really room in the freezer. I had room for stew meat and burger but he didn't want to mess with what was left. Sigh! And we haven't even got any chops out of the ones they did get. I'm not about to go hunting with my Tahoe. DD has to drive that for work now I told her there is no bulls eye painted on the grill.. Maybe I should throw full coverage on it instead of pl/pd.

There is a flock of turkeys 20 - 30 of them near my daughters house, they come right into their yard even with 4 big labs. GS will take a bucket of corn out to the brush and they keep there distance but go for it after he is back up to the house. I'll sometimes see them in a field on my way over there and stop and watch. Other times I have to stop for them, watching me as they are taking their sweet time crossing the road.

Hi Gigi, now is the time to go dumpster diving. probably not much going on there this time of night on a weekend. You could also dress as a bag lady and go incognito and now one would know.

Sorry Nova. Had enough of delivering stuff today. It wasn't too bad drive wise, but my issue was physical. Had a bit of an asthma issue going on that started kicking in last night. Had to stop at one point because it was getting too hard to breath and take an anti-inflammatory and a couple hits from the inhaler. Worked for a bit, but the cold air was just not helping. Wound up pulling out my scarf and wrapping it around my face.

Tee you could also carry around some of those disposable painters/doctors mask. Then you could just through it away and get a fresh one if your nose starts to run.
