Fuzzy's Farm

Aw, Nova, I'm sorry.

Got called in today so no day off for me, but I did get good advice for tomorrow. Bring a book! Apparently, jury selection takes awhile. Erm. Anyway, since I had just finished my latest book I had to run to the library to find a new one. What a terrible experience. Seriously. I keep up to date with all the books from my favorite authors so I had no clue what to get. I like mystery/suspense/murder types, but really didn't think that would be a good kind to read while waiting in a court complex. Love stories about the Tudor era, but couldn't spot any. So there I was in the library wishing so badly I could ask all of you for ideas on a book to bring since I know we all have a huge range on books, but I couldn't. Gah! It took awhile, but I picked up 3 books that I could thumb through the first few pages and pick the best to take. Bend in the Road (Nicholas Sparks), Mozart's Sister and P.S. I Love You (which I won't take, but wanted to read to see if was anything like the movie). At any rate, I'm totally open for suggestions from all of you because there will be more waiting in my future.

LOL,

Tee, the Tim Dorsey... When I say Extremely nutty, I do mean, like... psycho! The main character is a serial killer. BUT he's a serial killer who you actually root for. AND he's very creative on his... murders. AND he only takes out those that deserve it... LOL. His side kick is a serious drug head, Coleman... Serge is the psycho. AND with half the stuff he does, you wonder how the heck he survives. It can also be very vulgar. I do not suggest you get the audio books on it though. You might have to refrain from drinking while driving, cuz you will 1) pee yourself laughing; 2) spit on the windscreen. Atomic Lobster, Nuclear Jellyfish, The Big Bamboo, Florida Roadkill, Torpedo Juice... LOL Yeah. I love reading this one. Sure takes you on a break. LOL

Or, could be that I am just seriously messed up and think this is funny. I haven't gotten through all his books, but there are something like 15 or so...

Carl Hiaasen is also great. He's got both adult and kid books. Remember the movie Hoot? He wrote the book. Book is so much better than the movie. But I think you might like Nature Girl, Native Tongue, Strip Tease (remember demi more/burt reynolds movie? Book is better, movie sucked), OH, and Lucky You, Skinny Dip (Loved this one)... ANYWAY... yeah...

Sarah Dunant, The Birth of Venus, you will enjoy this one... and In the company of The Courtesan. I wish there was a second to this one too. They both take place in Italy 15th century.

The Red Tent, Anita Diamant... Tells the story of Dinah, only daughter of Jacob from the bible (Genesis)... Told from her view. She was the daughter that married outsider, and the only way Jacob would sanction it was if every man in the town were to be circumsized, and so they did, and while they were fevered and recovering, Jacob's sons and servants went in and slaughtered every one in revenge of their sisters honor... Anyway, it starts WAY before that, and continue till WAY after that. Very good story. I loved it.

Hey everyone, just checking in! Been very busy, my hubby's been layed off so just went back to work today... My chicks are all doing great. My sisters on her way here as we speak. She's bringing me chicks and ducks. So gotta build new pens! Sorry about Dot Nova. Hope she is better or goes peacefully. Hope everyone has great day! God bless

Well Dot went today. I brought her outside in a protective pen with a shady spot, food and water. Pat the Rat stayed with her the whole time. I went out at two and she was gone. I took her out in the way back and buried her.

I got my side yard picked up. It had so much crap that showed uo from the flood. I even found a kids rake! Yeah. Well anyway,I have a new use for a dogs pooper scooper... A trash picker upper.

candled the eggs last nite,so far, so good. Its a trip to see them moving in the shells.

Sorry about Dot, Nova. You did your best for her.

I have a broody and it's not the silkie, but my black sex link. I took my DDs to school this morning and when I got home I saw her wandering the yard, but the chickens hadn't been let out yet. Was a bit peeved we didn't know she wasn't in the coop last night. Anyway, later I walked into the pole barn and she was standing on a barrel and as soon as I came in the feathers on her neck went up and she started raising a fit. I figured she had to be hiding out somewhere in there on a nest, but didn't see one. My son actually found the nest tonight when he was out there so I went out to get her and again she's raising a fit and trying to 'kiss' me. So I got a small dog crate set up, put on some gloves and grabbed her. Guess how many eggs she was sitting on. 0, none, nada, zip. I was like 'what the heck' so I put her in the crate and went inside to get some eggs from the counter and put them in there with her. Figured if she going to act like she is, might as well try to get something for it. I put various size and color eggs in there so it will be interesting to see if I get anything and what they will be.

Oh, it was pointless to take a book today. Read about 6 pages when I got there and then everyone got called in to the courtroom. Had to pay attention from then on. It was nothing like my co-workers said it would be, but then I'm in a different county from them. Anyway, my number was never called and I am not assigned to any jury so my duty is over.

Oh, I'm sorry about Dot Nova. It's so hard to lose one of the girls but you are such a good 'mother' and did every thing you could.

Had to go to Alva yesterday - 3 1/2 hr drive ftom here- to go to court to be appointed personal representative for my dad. Then zoomed back to make my 5 pm class. I'm worn out. And late nights tonight, tomorrow and sat for end of school stuff. But then all is over for the summer = yippee!

We are getting SNOW here. Unbelievable. It was 80 yesterday and then snowing today. Geesh, will it make up it's mind. Had to go out and cover up stuff.

Hi Tee! Books - I'm reading Elizabeth George, the Inspector Lynley series. I didn't think I would like it that much but now I'm really into them. Great characters that hook you and you can't put them down.

Great about getting more birds, Savannah. How's the weather there?

Fuzzy, what's going on with the trailer?

Ok, need some help. I need to find Ruby a new home. He's been getting a bit cocky lately. He's been chasing my youngest DD around for about a month now, but has never hurt her. Yesterday, when we got home from the store he was on the steps and DD refused to go up them. When I walked to the steps, he kind of flew up at me. Didn't get me, though, but still not cool. Today, DH was in the yard and Ruby comes running to him and DH said he did this shake with his tail feathers and flew up at him with his chest out like when roosters fight. DH netted him and did the hold thing for a few minutes to let him know he better cool his jets. Afterward, DH decided we needed to find him a new home. He's not happy about it because he really likes how Ruby looks and loves watching him run around the yard in what DH calls his 'sumatran warrior mode', but he feel it would be the best. Would anyone like Ruby? If no one takes him, then we would have to put him down and I'm not a fan of that idea. Let me know, please!

Here's his pic again, in case anyone is interested. He's a good looking little boy (bantam- d'uccle). He is missing a few points from his comb from frostbite, but is otherwise good.

Too bad this wasn't a couple of weeks ago. I just bought one from Theron and another one Silly Chicken. :(
