Just read on the MI thread about BobBry. Poor guy. Glad he is on the mend though.


Finally found the chitter head on my septic tank. What a total stink suck fest. At least now I know exactly where it is after all the unnecessary digging. Glad I have a good neighbor. He helped me find it after diggin up his. His was only a foot down... Mine... 2 and a half. I am tired and sore now.

Jeep is also being a pain. Looks like I have to replace the thermostat... What a bad word.

Jeep is fixed! Going to do a final candle on the eggs, and in lock down they go! I am so EXCITED!!

Here is how everything stands for the moment....

I just did the last candling. There are several more that look like they quit, but as I am not certain, I marked all the ones that I was not sure off. One was clearly NOT alive. SO, there are now 36 eggs in the bator.

Anyway, temp is working it's way back up. Humidity is up to 62%, still going up. I filled the two wells that bator directions called to be filled, and have a fish hose on standby to add water if needed through a vent hole.

I really hope both Yoko's hatch, and if not, hope the one is a girl.

Nova I'm sorry you lost Dot. It's sad to lose one. My sister got here this afternoon, brought me a set of silkies. Didn't have any of those. And a set of something else can't remember what they are... Duh! And Peking baby ducks. I'm so happy. I'm sending her japanise bantam eggs home to put in incubator and a set of my speckled Spangler bantams home! We both love our chickens. Good luck with the ones you just put in Nova. So Gigi did the hen accept the eggs you gave her to set on? Hope so! Hello everyone hope everyone is well? Weather here's been crazy too.. Lots of rain. Be glad when it's over for a while.. Glad you got jeep fixed!! Yeah!

Your gonna love the silkies! Hawks will too... So, be sure they've got some place protected during hawk season...for me its fall...

Or not, it is a handyman special, and let me tell you, it's real special! Blank slate is what i'm telling myself. I need EVERYTHING. Flooring, appliances, toilet, tub.......... Looking for black appliances on the cheap, natural gas on the stove. Sandy beige toilet, since i have a beige pedestal sink already. But i don't know how i'm going to match the tub/ shower........ I don't have but a few hundred right now, so going to have to prioritize, but DH is being much nicer and is happily helping me work on it and letting me use his shower and fridge and whatnot.

AND this means that IF i can make a coop of sorts that has a predator safe run so i don't have to be there to let my birds out (so they don't get heat stroke when i'm at work)
I CAN KEEP MY BIRDS!

Sorry about Dot, Nova. You did your best, and i'm sure she appreciated the extra time and good life you gave her. I only prolonged my pet hen's life as well, technically. She let me know with her loves and hugs that she appreciated it, so much for "dumb animals". Roosters DO love their hens.

Fuzzy congrats on the trailer! On black appliances I HATE mine. Can't just wipe off and call it good. Have to finish up or use to start a multi-purpose cleaner and clean towel or paper towels so STREAK free shine. Stove top shows where I have missed every grease splatter. Grrrr, did I mention I hate cleaning them.

Now, are you going to have your hens there then? That would be cool if that is the case.

About the appliances and bathroom stuffs... Maybe you can check out the resource store here in Holland, or if there is one closer to you.
