Congrats on the trailer, fuzzy. Where is it located? Just wondering because Greenville has a habitat for humanity Re-store store that has new (and even slightly used) items for great prices, too.

Here is how everything stands for the moment....

I just did the last candling. There are several more that look like they quit, but as I am not certain, I marked all the ones that I was not sure off. One was clearly NOT alive. SO, there are now 36 eggs in the bator.

Anyway, temp is working it's way back up. Humidity is up to 62%, still going up. I filled the two wells that bator directions called to be filled, and have a fish hose on standby to add water if needed through a vent hole.

I really hope both Yoko's hatch, and if not, hope the one is a girl.

Nova I'm sorry you lost Dot. It's sad to lose one. My sister got here this afternoon, brought me a set of silkies. Didn't have any of those. And a set of something else can't remember what they are... Duh! And Peking baby ducks. I'm so happy. I'm sending her japanise bantam eggs home to put in incubator and a set of my speckled Spangler bantams home! We both love our chickens. Good luck with the ones you just put in Nova. So Gigi did the hen accept the eggs you gave her to set on? Hope so! Hello everyone hope everyone is well? Weather here's been crazy too.. Lots of rain. Be glad when it's over for a while.. Glad you got jeep fixed!! Yeah!

Or not, it is a handyman special, and let me tell you, it's real special! Blank slate is what i'm telling myself. I need EVERYTHING. Flooring, appliances, toilet, tub.......... Looking for black appliances on the cheap, natural gas on the stove. Sandy beige toilet, since i have a beige pedestal sink already. But i don't know how i'm going to match the tub/ shower........ I don't have but a few hundred right now, so going to have to prioritize, but DH is being much nicer and is happily helping me work on it and letting me use his shower and fridge and whatnot.

AND this means that IF i can make a coop of sorts that has a predator safe run so i don't have to be there to let my birds out (so they don't get heat stroke when i'm at work)
I CAN KEEP MY BIRDS!

on the trailer . a fixer upper can be fun ..even on a tight budget !!! and ya !! you can keep the birds !!

Bob had a surgery that became complicated and spent much of last month in the hospital which included an 11 day ICU stay. He's home now, but still not feeling well.

Been in hospital with complications after Shoulder replacement surgery. Spent 11 days in icu and followed up with 11 days in the therapy program. Home on May 1 and slowly healing and improving.

City sent letter for me to get rid of the rooster. I've been expecting it. Beautiful Welsummer, hatched Aug 2012. I simply do not want to kill him.

Congrats on trailer Fuzzy! Yeah! Just caught a man sneaking and leaving a hen at end of my driveway in cage! He said " well I seen you had chickens didn't think you'd mind!! Lol.. Real pretty golden ( mutt ) hen I think?.. Lol was too funny when I busted him! Told him I'd love to have it, and he threw in nice cage too...

Savannah, that is funny. Be sure to keep her caged away from the other birds, look her over, and treat her for worms and mites. You don't want her to get sick and get your current flock sick. She might look good now, but stress will bring out illnesses if she's carrying anything. Send me a pic of her and I'll get it posted for you.

Yes, i visited a "Re-store" today, found a cream colored toilet, havta see if it matches the sink now........... otherwise i have an odd sink.

Funny about the bird sneak-er! LOL I wonder why they didn't want her?

Wow Bob, what a nightmare! I hope it gets better! Do you still need hen saddles, then? Probably not if you have to get rid of your rooster I like my roosters, too. So sad that you can have screaming kids, barking dogs, blare TV's and radios and all kinds of ruckus but a simple rooster....... But chicken comes from the store, you know........

I went to flowerland on Alpine today, saw chickens there but it made me want to cry. They had a decent little pen, but there was NO shade at all, and when they saw me looking they ran to the fence and made a ruckus, went over and there was no water or food! Worker said they "did it this morning, don't know where it went" Blast! Hot, probably tons of sparrows drinking too..... and eating...... WTH? So i made sure they got water pronto. And HOW do birds always know i know what they are saying????

lol too funny ... umm oops i dropped a chicken in your driveway ..but i agree with nova about keeping it seperated for a bit ..etc..
