Fuzzy's Farm

That is what i was thinking b/c its a more uncommon bird it would less likely go to a freezer camp ...
I may try to convince DH. I would love to let Miss Marple raise some babies... Thanks, silver. Keep your fingers crossed.

Guess I'd better go out and clean the coop while I've still got time. OSU plays Texas tonight so I know what we'll be doing at 6 - LOL.

yw... I know i adopt roosters and so do a lot of others ... mine dont go to freezer camp though and i hear lavendar orphs are beautiful !!! fingers and toes crossed for ya

Maybe after a break she'll come back. She did the last time. Man, that really truly blows. I always appreciated her advice, and that's why I asked her so often for it on certain things. She's going to give a no-nonsence answer.

As for my SLW pullet, she is in the chicken cemetary now. I got my DS to dig the hole. He is a big time hole digger. LOL. Anyway, would you like to know what I have discovered on her? If what I saw was correct, she not only was at point of lay, but it looks like her repro system was not right. I am by no means an expert, but things didn't look like they should compared to the pics I was using for reference. SO, that one day when I got an oddball egg, may have been hers after all like I thought. Well, anyway, she's buried now.

Olive left for reasons of her own and it is not my place to disclose them. I'm sorry. But I will keep trying to get her back.

Well it was a real wonderful day today. Weather was nice and Kim and her hubby and daughter Kayla was here. We talked, ate lunch, and talked some more. Really great time with great friends. Kayla was really funny trying to talk Kim into a couple young peachicks all the while Kim is trying to explain to her that they live in the city and peacocks are loud LOL. It was just too funny. Kim, we need to do it again.

Like I said, she might come back on her own later. I hope she does, will miss her if she doesn't. There are people here who truly benefitted from her. Like you said, we've lost a great educator. In the mean time, pass on my best wishes, tell her I said "HI" and that she's my idol. LOL, Not my idiot. LOL

I'm working on him. I've always wanted lavender orpingtons.

Yeah that's how I felt about Olive also. I'm so sorry about your pullet. Aren't kids amazing?

Gotta run. Have to make a football supper and then curl up with a blanket (yes, it's actually coooooll here today - yippee) and my DH and watch OK get beat (probably - LOL). Have a great evening all!

I just might become an expert chicken autopsy guru if I have to open another one up anytime soon. I don't like it, but it is the only way to learn. I have a responsibility to my pets to know as much as I can since I can't always go to a vet. Lucky for me, I have my trusty touchpad and internet access. It is amazing the things you can find with a few keystrokes. It is not likely I will ever go to vet school for poultry, may as well utilize the tools I have.
