Here is what I say about cockerels, if the people who want them are going to eat them, then keep em and eat them yourself. At least you know the were raised good. They don't provide breakfast, may as well provide dinner.

good to know ... luckily other than the wooden big brooder that is going on the wood pile ..evering thing else is metal etc and non porous so bleach should help that and the sanitizy stuff mom and dad got ....

Idk. I may get there myself with the roosters. I would rather have them shot then to put them through the stress and awfulness of whatever a stranger would do................Especially after that last incident at the auction. Had that been my rooster in the sack...............i may have went to jail. It made me cry though and now i have a rooster i didn't really need......... but he is such a sweetheart so far. Except when scared at night, he started pecking his girlfriend one night and i swatted his behind right off the roost! He was mean. I think he though she was the one disturbing him! I put him back but seperated them that night. Since i put the one perch up high the other day it seems much less stressful at bed time in there.

Hmm. Sooner i get my coop walls replaced the better then. That countertop material is going to be much more moisture resistant, especially if i paint on the wood shaving side. This camper is old and water damaged, i've been worried about mold too. I am going to throw out all the old insulation too!

My dad said he would help me build a bigger coop

(to feed my chicken obsession)
BF said he would not help... stinker! HE is the one that wanted chickens! I wanted a few quail... Much smaller than chickens

I will need some more EEs come spring... do I wait until CS or do I order some??? Hmmm...
I have 2-3 that should be good layers... so I do not NEED more... but I NEED more...

I hope Noodle lays a really pretty egg. Her mama was a RIR and her daddy was a blue wheaton amerucana. She shows the BWA in her tail and wings. She hatched from a brown egg. We will see soon enough!!! She is due to lay in a week or 2!!!

I have a BR that has a few more weeks before she starts. Will she lay a white egg?

I have a silkie that will lay when she is darn good and ready... the lady I got her from said she was 19 weeks when I got her... she should be almost 6 months now.

I have a frizzled NN that should lay green eggs.

And I have a SG that is an "i dunno" and is almost 6 months. It hasn't crowed in a while... maybe I will get an egg... maybe I should have named this one Boy George...or Pat or Terry... some unisex name. I was so sure that it was a girl.

Br lays a light brown as far as i know .... My silkies arent laying yet but they are usually slow starters lol i likethat boy george or pat lol
Oooohh I bet the frizzled NN is pretty .. i lost all my nn crosses but hopefully will be getting more cross eggs come spring ... the new NN guy griffin is going in with the silkies .. i still need to trim his beak .. been so busy with the chickproblem havent got to it yet

My EEs arethe ones that seem to have an egg eating problem .. havent been able to watch them close to steal eggs either with the other problem ... but did give them oyster shell and they are getting fresh produce so maybe i will start getting some of my eggs bck now that they have quit molting are growing new feathers and getting calcium ... I have an OE and no idea where she came from but she does lay the prettiest eggs ive seen ....
