Gonna post a pic of the winter enclosure... if I can find it...


Ok... this was just before last winter hit and literally just finished the plastic sheeting. SO, the constantly open coop never got any actual wind that would blow into the coop or against the doors. Everything opened into the winter run, both the duck coop and the chicken coop. The duck coop was also completely open faced with hardware cloth, but on really cold cold days, I put a wood panel over that to help them stay warmer keeping their body heat in. I did not build the duck coop... The run roof is corragated, so plenty of ventilation where that meets the wooden frame. I did not use the foam that you would put under it... Still don't know that it has been put on an angle.. Was NOT fun getting snow off a flat surface... Especially since I built the run with line of sight leveling... HEHE. SO, it slants slightly towards the coop. Yup. LOL.
