Hi Mel! I'm in Adelaide too! Down by the beach but I love the hillsHi everyone,
I‘m Mel & I live in the Adelaide foothills with my husband and our 18 month old gold border collie, Duchess. We have 3 adult children who no longer live at home.
pour other animals include an alpaca (Angie), 2 miniature goats (Tilly & Casper the friendly goat), 4 saxony ducks (Beatrix, Jemima, Rebekah & Quakkers), 3 saxony drakes (Beau, Mr Drake & Cheese.... yep, my husband rolled his eyes at me too) and 5 hens
Dottie - Plymouth Rock (she was sold to me as a Gold Laced Wyandotte hence the name and I didn’t know better)
Esther - Easter Egger
Valda - Barnevelder
Aurora - Splash Australorp
Aria - Araucana
and much to my husband’s dismay another 7 chicks - 6 are 4 weeks old and the other is about 5-6 weeks.
I think I’ve sexed 5 to be pullets but the other 2 are Wyandottes, a gold laced and a blue laced gold, and they have me stumped. For now they are both named Wyn... Wynston & Wynthorp or Winnie & Wynona
Patti - Spangled Hamburg
Venus - Vorwerk
Sadie - Speckled Sussex
Lylah - Light Sussex (also the older one)
Nell - Blue Laced Barnevelder
In my spare time I‘m a full time uni student studying Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy), just about to start 2nd year of a 4 year degree.

Hi, I get my chicks from a breeder down south, she breeds heritage purebreds and has all her breeding stock easily accessible for viewing and they are really well kept.Hi Mel! I'm in Adelaide too! Down by the beach but I love the hills
What a cool flock! Where do you get your chooks? I started off buying from breeders and moved on to fodder stores.
Hey, if you want to join in a bit of chook chat, take a look at my thread, MJ's little flock.
Oh that's good to know, thanks!Hi, I get my chicks from a breeder down south, she breeds heritage purebreds and has all her breeding stock easily accessible for viewing and they are really well kept.
