CALLISTO: Callisto had to consult someone, almost definitely a barn owl. She swung her head around in search of a tyto alba. She saw one, Lily maybe? Yes, that little owl she had saved. It would have been much easier if she had come on her own will, but she would be a good soldier once she understood. "Pure Ones!" she shrieked, soaring out on her soundless wings.

DIRT: Dirt was flying back with his catch, a vole. He heard Callisto scree, but he didn't pay much attention, she normally only spoke to Barn Owls unless giving orders. How useless it is, he thought, to waste sooties and masked owls who can think just as well as any Barn Owl. How utterly useless to the Pure Ones.
Again, he shook the thoughts from his head. Bitter introspection wouldn't do him any good.
