hvitr was very confused, what was that thing that came at her? was it an animal? or just a rock of some sort, another object flew at her again! this time it hit her and a black powder engulfed hvitr, as soon as the powder touched hvitr's body it became sticky, hvitr's wings stuck to her body and she began to plumet to the ground. hvitr shrieked in terror because she couldn't fly anymore.

SPECKLE: Ever since he was an owlet Speckle had been taught two things: 1. Care nothing for others exept yourself and your cause. 2. Never disobey a barn owl. None of those were saving Hvitr. Finally his instinct won and he dove after her.

Hvitr shrieked, "HELP!!" she shrieked, most of her feathers were covered in the sticky black stuff. ---- niah smiled "yes" she whispered and swiftly began flying back to ga'hoole to report her sucess.

SPECKLE: Speckle reached out a talon to grab Hvitr. At first it slipped, and Speckle was engulfed in terror, but soon it stuck to him and he was able to bring Hvitr to safety in a tree.

hvitr gripped the tree, her body was shaking from the terror it just endured "i don't know who you are but thank you" she said shakilly trying to peel her wings away from her body. ---- niah was already flying over the ocean towards the great tree.

SPECKLE: "Um," he said, "I'm from the pure ones like you. You probably haven't seen me though, I don't go near barn owls much. No offense but most of them are like Callisto."

"you don't know how many have thought that" hvitr said prying her left wing off her side, the sticky stuff was starting to dry so it was breaking off easier. "but trust me, I am nothing like callisto" hvitr said slightly discusted.

SPECKLE: "I've always wondered how she got that way." he said. He looked at the icky black stuff, "Any idea what that is?"

"its gross, thats what it is" hvitr said prying her right wing off, she sniffed her wing and narrowed her eyes "tree sap, powdered flight feathers, crushed grapes..... and something else I don't know what it is" hvitr said "surprising that I was almost killed" she said looking in the direction of the ocean. -- niah landed near where dirt was she was smiling and very proud of herself.
