gag gag gag

Patches feels great today. I decided not to take her to the vet unless we see any s/sx of infection. I think we are gonna rename her GRUB. She's really having a good time running around and playing . I wonder if her hair is going to grow back or if she s going to have a bald spot.

While trying to find out what the worm in her skin was I googled all kinds of things and you would not believe the stuff that popped up. I swear people will post ANYTHING on u tube. And thank GOD I live in America cause them tropical climates have some NARSTY things that crawl inside you and try to grow/live.

I just got off the phone with the vet. In order to get the Bot Fly you have to be near the Mixico border. There is no chance that the worm Patches had can be "caught" by a human.

The hair on my dogs and rabbits always did.

I have always seen it grow back .. Sometimes lighter then the rest of the fur..

We had a collie that had maggots on the entire rump area that just freaked us all out when we were grooming him. I could not believe the mess they made and my mom was hysterical when she called the vet. The vet calmed her down and said to get some of the perioxide and pour it on his rump while peeling his upper skin off. It was so icky but we got it done. The next day, Mom took him to the vet and got a shot and inspection and he was fine after that. His rump hairs took a while to grow back, roughly 4 months and it was so baby fine LOL!

After that, we always checked our collies under the coat for any cuts or wounds or hot spots during the summer or wet season.

Ha! I've seen that video before. And yeah, it squicked me out but at the same time it was kind of cathartic. How often do people have something wrong with them that you can just go-- fwooop-- and remove it with a pair of tweezers?

one year DH shot a rabbit(we had toooooo many in our yard) so anyway, we went to dispose of it and i saw something moving in it's neck and it came out by itself!!! YUCK! it was sooo gross. and it takes a lot to gross me out LMAO. and then later on we had a kitten that had it in its neck.. i put pressure on the backend of the grub(it was still in the hole and i just applied pressure to where i thought the back was) and it wiggled out and then i washed said kitten and packed the hole full of neosporing and it did get pusy the next day, i rewashed it(cuz it scabbed over) and i repacked it again, and in a week or better it healed up and was nice and pretty again.. then it got hit by a car:( SAD. but now at least i know how to take care of it:)
