Gaggle of Geese Lovers

This is from my ancient sketchbook (over 4 years old.)

It's a little faded because back then I didn't spray sealer on my art but still one of the pieces I look back on most fondly.

🤣🤣🤣
That's funny! And well drawn. I think those feet are the most realistic and detailed I've seen in any art featuring geese - outside of photographs, of course.

Popping in to say hi here finally 🫣
I'm going to be getting four older goslings (just over a month old I think) Tuesday evening. I'm really excited but I'll be honest I don't know a whole awful lot about geese, my family had some when I was little but that was many years ago.
I'd really appreciate any advice or tips anyone may have, and I'll be properly lurking on this thread to watch the chatter now 🙃

My advice would be... to be ready for trouble 😁

Trouble?

You mean like stealing a gardening glove and refusing to give it back? Chewing chunks out of wooden house trim and taking big bites out of a wooden settee's arms? Putting EVERYTHING in their mouths, like chunks of glass and plastic?

Or, do you mean walking up behind resting runner ducks and forcing them to get up and parade across the yard for no reason and/or kicking the ducks out of the kiddie pool and hogging it for hours?

Hmmm. Maybe you're right!!

Congrats on getting to share your life with geese again! What breed are you getting?

My top advice is to begin handling them ASAP and bond with them by being the beloved giver of their food and treats.
I'm not quite sure of their breed to be honest. Mostly getting them cause a friend of a friend's geese hatched a few too many goslings 😅
Bribery was exactly what I was thinking 😊

Oh dear... 😂😅
Sorta looking forward to it though :p

Your ok your getting geese every breed is different every breeding is also but no mater what breed or mix of geese. Always love them Im sure you will. Always remind them that you are in charge and there protected. They will always look to you.

My flock will line up at the barn door at sunset and wait for me if Im late call for me. Yep sun is going down but they need the night night words to go in. There is nothing like a goose...
