Gaggle of Geese Lovers

Our geese are getting my hopes up x.x Today our gander is mounting our Embden who isn't a year old yet but now shes showing nesting behavior. And I know it doesn't technically mean she will lay eggs but I can't help it. I really can't wait for hatching goose eggs.

sorry if I'm not supposed to ask questions on this thread. I really like Chinese geese, how is their temperament?

If I were to get any geese I think I would get 2 female Chinese geese. Is this a "bad" breed? anything I should know.

I'd get them as babies, for my goose exposure therapy 😂

I don’t have Chinese myself but I’ve heard some say theirs are vocal with big personalities.

Anyone know how many eggs a week a Embden will lay? Our girl Greta laid her first egg. Gizzy laid every other day or so last year. But I'm guessing it's Greta's cause Gizzy isn't acting any different and Greta was showing nesting behavior signs yesterday. And theres some blood smear on it.

I hatched Chinese geese in an incubator when I was a child and fell in love with geese above all other poultry as a result. I've heard they're more vocal than other breeds, but I can't remember well enough to back anything up with my own experience.

Oh boy you're really going all in. @JRies

Ah yes. I subscribe to the launching into the front yard approach, myself, but the driveway strategy has its advantages.
Well it's not really a driveway, most of the gravel has become one with the ground.
