Treated rudely at work.

Feelings hurt.

Guy not nice.

Called "lazy, horrible"

Rant done but feelings still hurt.

Apparently my original post had
a) too many details that could lead someone to figure who who had upset me so much and
b) pseudo-swearing as indicated by shift+numbers, so mod removed.

I respect her decision and will not repeat the offenses.

And yes, the person who was rude to me is not a native speaker of English. I did give him a benefit of a doubt for a long time due to the language. But calling someone lazy because they missed an email is never called for, especially after many attempts at reconciliation. The meaning of that word is clear, and clearly strong.

It is an extremely unfortunate and potentially damaging turn of events for the future of our work relationship. It's sad and disappointing, really. I'm sad that it has left such a bitter taste in my mouth about the partner instution. It makes me want to void our the relationship completely: it's not worth the constant abuse.

edited to add some clarity, insert some purposeful vagueness and add:

I speak French and work in a culturally-sensitive environment. For those reasons I try to be especially careful about my written tone in emails. Clearly, sometimes I'm better at it at some times more than I am at other times; otherwise my 1st post would probably still exist. I would never call someone "paresseux" and would be especially prudent in emails with a colleague many thousands of miles away who has frustrated me. Indeed, I've had to be on the giving side of bilingual overseas constructive criticism and it's very difficult to write in a way that is appropriate to the situation as well as respectful of the long-term relationship.

BTW, Shakespeare was a masterful insult hurler, so I shall allow him to express my chagrin with Mr. Mean Email: http://www.pangloss.com/seidel/Shaker/index.html

I love those insults, lol. Next time my husband makes me mad, I'm going to say:
Thou yeasty toad-spotted whey-face!

Thou puny clapper-clawed ratsbane!
[Thou hath] not so much brain as ear wax.
Thou crusty botch of nature!
Thou spongy dread-bolted pigeon-egg!

I love that the generator button says, "Insult me again" and "Taught me a second time"
