Dour, older than Zephyra and more familiar with the territory, soon had the two fillies blocked. He glowered down at them, focusing on Zephyra. The grullo stud snorted and narrowed his eyes. "Leaving? I don't think so." He gestured toward her rear-end. "We can do this now, or we can wait 'til later."

Cinders felt herself melting under her sire's angry gaze. The filly's legs were wobbling like Jello.
The yearling looked at Dour, then nudged Cinders and started back to the herd "We were playing, like we have been doing for months now" she said

The grullo stud looked anything but convinced at Zephyra's words. With an annoyed snort, he approached the fillies, nudging them along with his head. "See that that's all you were doing."

Cinders, still weak-kneed, stumbled forward at Dour's rough nudge. She hadn't liked that look in his eyes.

Zephyra walked back, only stopping when she stood near her dam. She lay down and curled up

Dour glowered at the two fillies then returned to his position near both Aurora and Annalise. Tossing his head, he sent a piercing scream into the air; this was meant to warn other studs to keep away. He didn't know where all his mares had wandered to foal, and so, he had had to increase his usual borders. The stud screamed again, louder this time. This was his territory!

Cinders looked at Zephyra hopelessly. She had no dam to curl-up with. Ash was in another herd, and even so, she had driven the filly away. Cinders certainly couldn't curl-up with her sire.

Cinders felt her blood running cool as she listened to Dour's screams. She neared Zephyra and curled-up next to her, nearly pressing herself atop the other filly. She was uneasy. "Be glad you're not related to him," she said quietly.

"If I was, I could leave, no problems" She whispered back
